Can I Still Recover Compensation if the Florida Car Accident was my Fault?

Even if an accident is your fault, you’re always entitled to recover insurance proceeds if you had insurance coverage in this state. The Florida No Fault Act allows you to recover eighty percent of your medical bills, and sixty percent of your lost wages. In addition, Florida is a comparative negligence state, which means even if the accident was partially your fault, you would still be entitled to recover the percentage of damages, or the percentage of fault which was not caused by you. In other words, if you were thirty percent at fault for the accident, and the other party was seventy percent at fault, you could still collect seventy percent of the value of your damages.
