Witnesses are perhaps more important in medical malpractice cases than in any other type of case because the language that they use and the science that will be the issue in front of a jury are not things that most jurors are very familiar with, so taking depositions from witnesses, doctors, nurses, technicians becomes very important to nail down what their testimony is going to be at trial and make sure that we can explain everything, and if somebody’s trying to fudge it, that we can get a witness, an expert witness, to explain why what they’re telling the jury is not so.
