$ 3,500,000.00 medical malpractice recovery for 14 year old with Downs Syndrome

$ 3,500,000.00 recovery on behalf of a 14 year old child with Downs Syndrome who had been hospitalized for bronchitis. This claim was brought on behalf of the plaintiff against a physician and hospital. The night before she was to leave the hospital, she was mistakenly given medication which the nurse thought was a sedative, but which actually was a drug used to paralyze the lungs when a patient is placed on a ventilator. The plaintiff went into respiratory arrest and suffered anoxic brain damage before being resuscitated.
