Canadian diver dies after ocean trip

After a dive in the Atlantic Ocean Tuesday morning, a man’s body was returned to a Pompano Beach dock where he was pronounced dead by the city’s Fire Rescue, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said.

Tourist Bruce Magill, 63, of Ontario, Canada, had surfaced after the sea dive and was swimming toward the Aqua View catamaran boat with other divers, but never made it back to the vessel, Broward Sheriff’s spokeswoman Keyla Concepcion said.

After a 15-minute search, Magill’s body was discovered floating, she said, and was pulled aboard the dive boat where a doctor began CPR, Concepcion said.
