As Co-Founder of the firm, Howard Pomerantz serves as Senior Litigation Counsel and tries cases in both state and federal courts. Mr. Pomerantz has handled numerous cases involving multimillion-dollar recoveries. He has an AV rating from Martindale Hubbell Law Directory, and has extensive experience in trying complex litigation cases. His practice is concentrated in the areas of medical malpractice, personal injury, wrongful death and products liability law.
He was recognized in June 2006 in the Miami Herald as one of Florida's super lawyers, named as one of 43 top medical malpractice plaintiff lawyers in Florida.
Howard L. Pomerantz is an EAGLE member of The Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers and recently obtained a 14.65 million dollar present value partial settlement in a medical malpractice case with a lifetime payout for our client of over 70 million dollars. Mr. Pomerantz is still litigating the case against certain other defendants. He also obtained a multi-million dollar recovery in one of the first cases in the United States against a health club for failure to have automated external defibrillators (A.E.D.s), for which he received an award from Fitness Institute International and was an invited lecturer at the 2002 National Convention of the International Health and Racquet Sports Association.
Mr. Pomerantz was elected to the American Board of Trial Advocates and has served as Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary of the Broward County Chapter. He does volunteer pro bono work for indigents through the organization, Broward Lawyers Care, and is a member of the Florida Bar Scope Panel, to advise and mentor young attorneys.
Mr. Pomerantz is the author of "When Exercise Turns Deadly", an article about the litigation of cases against health clubs for failing to have A.E.D.s, which article was published in the June, 2004 issue of TRIAL Magazine. Mr. Pomerantz is also the author of "Medical Malpractice Following Initial Tort", published in Florida Torts Reporter, February, 1991. In February, 2003, Mr. Pomerantz was a speaker in the United States House of Representatives at a forum for members of the House Judiciary Committee regarding Medical Malpractice Tort Reform legislation.
