A man died early Saturday in a hit-and-run on North Miami Avenue and 79th Street.Carl Jones was thrown more than 100 feet from the impact of the car just after 6 a.m. Saturday, Miami Detective William Moreno said. He was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital where he died.
Detectives on the scene told WFOR-CBS4 that the driver was likely driving more than 60 mph when he hit Jones. Video from a security camera across the street shows a dark, four-door vehicle.
Police are asking anyone with information on the accident call crime stoppers at 305-471-8477.
